Our Honeymoon // A few things we learned in Peru

machu picchu / a thousand threads
Okay it’s unofficially honeymoon week around here, so today I thought I’d share our shots from Machu Picchu and Aguas Calientes… but while I’m at it, I should note that it was around this point in our trip that we started to clue in to a few little details about the country we were visiting… such as, there might be an extra cup of sugar in your salad… and an extra cup of pisco in your sour…

So, because we crack ourselves up (no promises on anyone else…) here are a few of the things we learned in Peru…

Too much chicha is bad for walking uphill.
The US should have a guinea pig festival (you know, without the disturbing end…).
Pisco wins.
Chocolate on ravioli?  Maple syrup on salad?  Yes, please.
In Peru, lunch is dinner and dinner is… still dinner.  Eat more.
Mumbling ‘bueno’ is not an appropriate response to ‘good afternoon.’
You can’t always point your way through a conversation.
Coca Cola runs the world.
Peruvian porters are superhuman gourmet cooks.
There’s a hole in the ozone. (Notice our sexy hats, bought hastily after our heads were already scorched beyond repair?

… I can feel Mark giving me the side eye now for packing just 15 sunscreen.  You’ll heal… I promise.)
