That’s it — the last gasp of winter. Unfortunately yesterday’s snow day wasn’t quite like this. I guess we were expecting a little too much from snow in March (Austin was just a little guy in these shots — he’s almost 7 now! — and we’ve barely had another good snow since).
I know I complain a lot about the cold, but there’s something about a really good snow day that you can’t help but love. Even though yesterday wasn’t ideal — no playing or building snowmen in that wet mushy stuff — Mark and I made the best of our day off and whipped up some warm soup and homemade cookies, then curled up for an evening movie and a glass of wine. Even if the snow let us down, the day definitely did not.
Maybe next winter we’ll have another big one… but for now, I can’t say I’m all that sad. It’s past time to start warming up!
